What is your purpose?

What is your calling, purpose, or ministry?

Today I am thinking about Jesus’ ministry when he was on Earth. I find it very interesting that the majority of it was not done in a temple or synagog.

I know that he went to both the temple and the synagog. He also ministered in those places. This shows that he did value places of worship and prayer. However, he did not think ministry only be done there. He did not dedicate the majority of his time doing work in those places.

He did his work through his daily interactions. He ministered to the various people he came in contact with regardless of the person, situation, timing, or venue.

As I reflected over my day I recalled coming in contact with at least 4 people that shared needs with me. I told them I would pray for them and I did.

But as I prayed for them I was “pricked” in my heart.. why would I tell them I would pray for them later? Why would I not just pray with them at that very place and time? What if they needed to feel their faith build through the prayer?

Now my prayer becomes “Tomorrow is a new day, by your grace God, I am going to be more aware of the need to be what you need me to be IN THE MOMENT.”
